Our story
From Thai mountains to your cup
Phirom Coffee Lab wants Thai flavour to be something to be proud of. We take coffee and ingredients from home and develop them into quality drinks that are easy to love — each with a story.
Where it began
A small bean the tree gives only rarely
Out of every hundred coffee cherries, only about three to five hold a single round bean — the peaberry. Phirom Coffee, a Thai roaster, sorts these beans by hand, one by one, from farms above 1,200 m in Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Nan.
The beans rest in controlled warehouses in Chiang Rai and Lampang and are roasted at Phirom’s own roastery. That care is what we want you to taste in a single cup.
More than a coffee bar
A coffee bar inside a building that grows and extracts plants
Phirom Coffee Lab sits inside the Advanced Plant Factory with Artificial Lighting building, in the grounds of KAPI at Kasetsart University. This four-storey building holds everything from plant-growing rooms and a formulation lab to the extract and herbal-products facilities of our partner K‑API (K‑API Co., Ltd.). The people working around us study Thai plants every day.

3rd floor
Growing rooms under artificial light
Plants grow in closed rooms where light, temperature and carbon dioxide are controlled all year round.
2nd floor
Cosmetics, formulation and a kitchen lab
A cosmetics facility, a formulation lab and work on refining extracts so they are easier to use, such as encapsulation — plus a kitchen lab for testing food and drink recipes.
Ground floor, back
Plant extracts and herbal medicines
K‑API extracts Thai plants and makes herbal medicine products here.
Ground floor, front
Phirom Coffee Lab
The door anyone can walk through. The know-how around us — sorting, extracting, quality control — ends up in your cup.

Why “Lab”
We experiment until the cup is right
Phirom Coffee Lab is a collaboration between Phirom Coffee and K‑API, our partner for knowledge and innovation in Thai ingredients. So we build drinks around interesting ingredients — brewing, tasting and adjusting until they are easy to love and worth talking about.
Our logo is drawn from the caffeine molecule, filled with the contour lines of the mountains where our peaberry grows, with a drop on the “i” for an extract of Thai plants.
What we set out to do
A clear origin for every cup
Which mountain, what altitude, which process — because where it comes from is part of how it tastes.
Room on the menu for Thai ingredients
We keep bringing interesting Thai ingredients into our drinks, brewing and adjusting until they are right.
Specialty quality, every day
Good coffee shouldn’t be a rare treat. Cups start at 65 baht.
